Jonathan is currently a sophomore at UNLV pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. He is currently working on gaining more research experience and becoming a peer mentor this summer. His plan is to continue working on his Bachelor’s degree and, in the future, apply for graduate school to pursue a PhD in psychology.

Research Interests: the self and the conscious mind

Hobbies: reading self-improvement books, exercising, spending time with his family, and watching Sci-Fi movies

Doc is a recent graduate of UNLV with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in neuroscience. He plans to further his education and pursue a Ph.D. in Neuroscience after gaining more research exposure.

Research Interests: traumatic brain injuries, neuropharmacology and the effects of spaceflight stressors on behavior

Hobbies: working out, spending time with friends and family

Nuhamine is a third-year student at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in Neuroscience and Psychology. She is passionate about science and aspires to pursue medicine while intertwining research. Previously, she worked in the Hopkins Medical Campus researching hydrocephalus seeking non-invasive treatments.

Research Interests: neuronal degeneration mechanisms and therapies, examining memory's neural circuits, and exploring the biological underpinnings of neuropsychiatric disorders

Hobbies: thrifting, cooking, painting, and exploring new scenery

Nicole is a fourth-year student at UNR pursuing a major in Neuroscience with a minor in Biochemistry. At her home school, she applied her background in coding to quantify the activation of olfactory receptor neurons within insects to design pragmatic solutions to vector-borne illnesses. After graduation, Nicole intends to take a gap year to gain more research experience and volunteer at a local neurology clinic.

Research Interests: neurodevelopmental sciences, neuroinflammatory mechanics of pain and affective disorders, and neural circuitry of sensorimotor systems

Hobbies: spending time with her family, baking sweet treats, and beach days at Lake Tahoe

Sierra Ordonez is a second-year undergraduate at University of Nevada, Las Vegas majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D in Neuroscience and continue doing research.

Research Interests: the study of cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychological disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases

Hobbies: exploring new places in town, hanging out with friends, and discovering new music
