Summer Internships

NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

Maximizing Student Potential in STEM, or MSP, aims to foster diversity by increasing the participation of underrepresented and underserved students in STEM disciplines as well as students with a record of supporting diversity and inclusion by providing part-time and full-time fellowship opportunities at JPL. The program is extended to, but not limited to, underrepresented minorities, women, first generation college students, geographically underrepresented students, educationally or financially disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities. As part of their fellowships, students are partnered with JPL scientists or engineers, who serve as the students' mentors. Students complete designated projects outlined by their mentors, gaining educational experience in their fields of study while also contributing to NASA and JPL missions and science. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of enrichment activities, including tours, lectures and career advisement, arranged by the JPL Education Office. Neuroscience Laboratory

Internships are educational hands-on opportunities that provide unique NASA-related research and operational experiences for educators and high school, undergraduate, and graduate students (age 16 and up). To learn more, visit https://intern.nasa.gov.

This internship opportunity is for students working with Dr. Ashley Blackwell at University of Nevada Las Vegas and Dr. Rachael Seidler at University of Florida Gainesville to have a 6 week in person internship in the Neuroscience Laboratory at NASA JSC. Students will be required to complete training to conduct human research (referred to as CITI training), and will participate as test operator and/or data analyst for ongoing studies sponsored by the Human Research Program and/or Mars Campaign Office on sensorimotor assessments and countermeasures needed for space exploration. Space limits will allow two interns at a time, with UF students between May - mid June and UNLV students between mid June through July.

Neuromotor Behavior Laboratory

University of Florida, Department of Applied Physiology & Kinesiology

This internship grants the opportunity to work with Dr. Rachael Seidler at the University of Florida, Gainesville to have a 10 week in person internship in the Neuromotor Behavior Laboratory. Students will be required to complete training to conduct human research (referred to as CITI training), and will participate as test operator and/or data analyst for ongoing studies on sensorimotor assessments and countermeasures needed for space exploration.
